EU Project

Development of the DiPrint software solution co-financed by the European Union

Purpose of Development

Given that the large-format digital printing industry emerged approximately 15 years ago and is growing rapidly (with the greatest expansion in the last 5 years), there are no practical and proven comprehensive software solutions for production monitoring in this industry — especially not specialist solutions tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises. Most solutions available on the market today originate from conventional printing, where business operations are quite different. Specific solutions from conventional (offset) printing are not suitable for this type of activity, and here we see the opportunity to develop and commercialize this software solution.

The DiPrint software solution is designed as a modern web application that a company (client) will use either as its central information system (CIS) or as a system for supporting and monitoring production (MES). It is designed as a modular system.

Solution Modules

  • modules for creating quotes and capturing production orders
  • modules for production monitoring (physical tracking of work orders through the production process)
  • modules for material production monitoring
  • modules for monitoring online orders in B2B/B2C form
  • mobile system for using the system via mobile app (field order intake, order confirmation, …)
  • solution for automatic processing of submitted print motifs
  • calculation modules for computing production costs and comparing with actual costs
  • integrated solution for data analytics, ad-hoc reporting and BI system

Development Goals

The goal of developing this software product is to offer the market a modern solution that will significantly impact:

  • reduction of actual production time
  • more rational use of materials (consequently reducing waste)
  • more efficient use of production resources (optimizing from a human or machine resource perspective, lower energy consumption)
  • reduction of customer complaints (by selecting more appropriate materials, colors, or implementing quality control systems for submitted motifs and finished products)
